Name: Niya, though that isn't his real name.
Nickname(s): Just Niya, thanks. Unless you can think of something better...?
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Orientation: Homosexual, and not afraid to admit it.
Race/Tribe: Human/Pirate?
Appearance: Disheveled dark blonde hair, big blue-green eyes, tan skin. His build is small and wiry.
History: Niya’s history is a murky mystery. He doesn't remember anything about who he was before being found by the S.S. Chimera and joining the pirates. Even his name is a mystery to him. The only clue he has is a ring that he wears around his neck at all times and several scars which cover his entire body. One particular scar is shaped like a star and takes up a good bit of his chest. He is haunted by nightmares, but he has no idea what they mean or even if they're memories or just really vivid dreams. He tries to pretend they don't bother him, but he's taken to staying up and doing things, just to avoid the terror that comes with sleeping.
Personality: Optimistic and cheerful to a fault, Niya never lets anything keep him down for long. He tries very hard to look on the bright side, and if there isn’t a bright side, he lies about it, both to himself and anyone who will listen. He talks a lot, and is really good at manipulating things to get what he wants. One of the perks to being adorable, he supposes.
Special Skills/Strengths: Manipulation, and he's good with a dagger (Or two). He's also a very successful pick-pocket.
Weaknesses: Although he has magic, he is very bad with it and doesn't quite understand how to use it. In fact, magic freaks him out and makes him extremely nervous, so if anyone has it, he is extremely panicky.
Other Notes: Niya likes to dress outrageously. He loves wearing ridiculously bright colors, expensive fabrics (stolen of course) and many layers. It very seldom matches, but it's fun for him.
Sample Post (at least 50 words):
The sun beat down above, baking the surface of the ship as Niya worked tirelessly to finish scrubbing the decks. His bare feet were burning, and he was beginning to regret not putting on boots that morning.
A yawn escaped his lips. He hadn't been sleeping well. The nightmares had come back last night. He kept on feeling the rough hands, hearing the screams, drowning in the fear. It was enough to drive a person mad.
"Oi, Niya!"
Niya glanced up to see who had spoken and a grin broke across his face. Perfect. It was Adelita. She had taken a fancy to Niya almost immediately when she had joined the ship's crew. She'd do rather nicely.
"Hello, Adel," he said with a purposefully wan smile.
"Niya, what's wrong? You seem...tired."
"Oh, this? It's nothing...I just...well, I couldn't sleep last night."
"You poor thing! Here, get off your feet. It's much too hot for you to be out here. Why don't you go lay down?"
"I can't," Niya responded, frowning, "I have to finish this...the Captain will murder me if it's not clean."
"Don't you worry about that. I'll take care of it! You just get some rest."
"But Adel--"
"Not another word! Go get some sleep." She yanked the brush out of his hand and then shooed him towards the bunks, where all the pirates slept.
"If you're sure..."
"I'm sure. Now go."
As he turned to leave, he couldn't help the bright smile that found its way onto his lips. Damn, he was good...
